The Daily Mile is an initiative to encourage school children to walk, run or jog one mile each day. This can be done in usual school wear, so no kit or changing time is needed.
The speed of the mile is whatever the children and the teachers can manage, and has no barriers in terms of the children’s ages or abilities. The Daily Mile helps improve the fitness, health and concentration in pupils. It has already shown an increase in student attention in class and an improvement in physical fitness, ability, and emotional responses.
